Our 2016 SABF Fiction Contest is now over. Please check back in the fall for information about our 2017 Fiction Contest.

About the SABF Fiction Contest Contest:

The Fiction Contest is a wonderful opportunity for young writers and storytellers to showcase their creativity. Winners from each grade category will not only have their work showcased at the San Antonio Book Festival, but will be awarded CASH PRIZES, ride on the official Texas Cavaliers Fiesta float in the river parade, have their stories published in the Texas Cavaliers' official program, and win Whataburger for a year!

Shannon Stephens Joins the Book Festival Staff

The Book Festival is pleased to announce that Shannon Stephens will be joining its staff this month as Community Engagement Director. Shannon will be assisting with all aspects of the Festival, but she will be particularly helpful with fundraising and growing our educational outreach for the Book Festival.

On April 2, more than 18,000 people from Bexar County and beyond descended upon the Central Library and Southwest School of Art in downtown San Antonio to attend our 4th annual SABF. It was a day for the books and the feedback we have received—from authors, media, Festival goers, and sponsors—has been overwhelmingly positive.
