San Antonio Book Festival Making Headlines

The staff at the San Antonio Book Festival and Library Foundation are busy preparing for our 3rd Annual San Antonio Book Festival!

SABF’S 1ST FILM SCREENINGAll About the Groove is a feature-length documentary about San Antonio native Doug Sahm, master of Tex-Mex roots-rock music. After the film’s presentation at the Festival—the first in San Antonio—there will be a Q&A with author, music journalist and the film’s director, Joe Nick Patoski.

SABF’S 1ST PITCHAPALOOZA: The brainchild of Arielle Eckstut and David Henry Sterry, cofounders of The Book Doctors, Pitchapalooza grants twenty writers the opportunity to pitch a book idea to a panel of judges. Contestants will have one minute to present their pitches, then will receive critique from the judges. “Everyone has an idea for a book, but Pitchapalooza lets those ideas compete, with the winner getting the chance to present his or her idea to literary agents,” says SABF Literary Director Clay Smith. “It’s a lot of fun for the audience and meaningful for the participants.”
