Literary Luncheon with Tim O’Brien
May 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Join the San Antonio Public Library Foundation for the 14th Annual Literary Luncheon on Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 11:30am-1:30pm at the San Antonio Country Club, located at 4100 North New Braunfels Avenue.
This year, we welcome award-winning author Tim O’Brien to discuss his new book, Dad’s Maybe Book, a nonfiction meditation on fatherhood, growing old, and the struggle to write about those experiences.
“If this does, in fact, prove to be the last thing he writes, it is a touching conclusion to a literary career that has left us with a shelf of enduring novels, memoirs and short stories. Mr. O’Brien, like Hemingway, didn’t necessarily write about war as much as something larger: our shared humanity.”
-Wall Street Journal
Public health is uppermost in our minds right now. We recognize there is uncertainty that our Luncheon will take place. We are, however, requesting your kind consideration of support for this compelling event featuring Tim O’Brien. Like many nonprofits, the San Antonio Public Library Foundation depends upon special event revenue to fund core Library Foundation programming and operations. If we determine it is necessary to postpone the luncheon, we will communicate with you as soon as possible.
To those who have already purchased a table or ticket, you can choose between attending the rescheduled luncheon, treating your support as a fully tax-deductible contribution to SAPLF, or you can request a refund.
Thank you again for your support of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.
